Regions.Ru informs that geologists have started diamonds searching in Kola Peninsula. The works are being conducted by request of Russian and foreign companies that are allowed to search gemstones in course of five years. However, they are not allowed to develop the deposits as special licence is required for it.

Gemstones were searched in the region twenty years ago as well but at that time geologists failed to find significant diamonds deposits.
