REGIONS.RU informs that on June 23, 2004, bankruptcy proceedings at Izumrudnye Kopi Urala Company will be finished. It was initiated in September 2002 and prolonged for a year and a half. During this period the company failed to sell the gemstones estimated by the GOKHRAN of Russia at totally $200 thou. Among these gemstones there is alexandrite named The Patriot.

According to the GOKHRAN experts, the alexandrite is not a unique gemstone. Its cost was reduced ten times as many – from $150 thou to $15 thou. However, both GOKHRAN and Sverdlovsk region authorities have refused to buy it. The company failed to sell it in the free market as well.

In this case all the gemstones will be passed to Malyshev settlement administration.
