AKSnews.RU publishes that the representatives of MMC Norilsk Nickel confirm experts? forecasts about its merge with Gold Fields Limited. Last month the Norilsk Nickel became the largest shareholder of the SA company. The vice president of the Russian metals producer Leonid Rozhetckin announced that MMC will continue Gold Fields shares buying. It will allow the company to one of the world?s gold mining leaders.

In 2003 MMC Norilsk Nickel mined 40 tons of gold. By 2007 the company plans to have increased gold mining volume up to 100 tons of the precious metal. Experts state that the deal between the South African gold mining company and MMC Norilsk Nickel is highly likely to turn into a merge.
