Romania demands gold from Russia
Finansovye Izvestiya informs that the Central Bank of Romania is going to demand once more 93.4 tons of gold from Russia. This amount of precious metal was passed to Moscow during the World War I in order to keep this gold safe. However, due to historic changes, this gold has been lost.
In 2003 Russia and Romanis signed an agreement about friendship and cooperation and organised an expert commission aimed to examine the circumstances of the gold disappearance. Moscow experts state that it is practically impossible to find the lost gold. Too many years have passed since the time when the two royal families were the bets friends – the gold was passed to Russia a year before the Revolution.
After the Revolution of 1917 the traces of Romanian gold were lost. However, Romania keeps trying to find and to return the precious metal.
