Israeli delegation will have negotiations with Russian diamond monopolist
The director of Israeli Diamond Bourse Moshe Schnitzer has announced that the lack of raw diamonds prevents from Israel from reaching diamonds export up to $7 bln. Last year the country sold abroad diamonds $5.5 bln worth and the increase of diamonds export amounts to 20% annually.
AEN reports that Israeli businessmen are going to take urgent measures in order to reduce the country’s dependence on De Beers. For this purpose they plan to visit Russia and to hold negotiations with ALROSA, Russian diamond monopolist.
The question of Russian supplies to Israel increase was brought up during the last visit of Israeli governmental delegation to Russia.
