Russia’s share in the world’s diamonds mining is 21%, in diamonds cutting – 6%
During the Internet press conference held by Russian Jewelery Network the vice-president of ALROSA Company Sergey Ulin informed about Russia’s diamonds production.
The world’s diamonds production is estimated at about $12 bln, Russia’s share in it being about $700 mln a year that is 5,8%. Indian diamond producers are the leaders in this field. As for raw diamonds, Russia is the second country in the world in diamonds mining, its share being about 21%. Despite Russian diamonds mining volume’s growth, Russia is yielding its positions due to diamonds mining increase in Angola and diamonds deposits development in Canada.
