As it has been published by IA Norilsk Novosti, Krasnoyarsk Non-Ferrous Metals Plant may enter the joint venture of MMC Norilsk Nickel.

However, the main part of the negotiations about this issue has not been started yet. This might happen in the middle of 2004.

There is one great problem: the plant is a joint-stock company and Krasnoyarsk krai’s authorities participate in the venture and are not able to sell it. According to MMC Norilsk Nickel CEO Mikhail Prokhorov, MMC doesn’t insist on it. It is highly likely, that the plant will become an associated member of the new gold mining holding.
