Vesti-Irkutsk informs that Baikalskiy Bank of the Savings Bank of Russia (Irkutsk region) received a coin weighing 1 kg from Australia. It costs over 20 thou roubles. This coin is made of silver, 999 purity of alloy, the number of these coins issued is 20 thou. The coin is devoted to the Olympic Games of 2000 held in Sydney.
The first coin from this series appeared and was sold at once at the end of 2003. At the International Coins Fair in 2000 it was named “the coin of the century” abd now it is extremely popular with numismatists.
The Baikalskiy Bank sells about 700 coins a week. In the nearest future it will receive 20 coins more from Australia.
