According to YASIA, in Yakut town Mirny there were three natural diamonds with total weight over 2,6 ct confiscated from the illegal turnover. The diamonds were confiscated from a man earlier charged with illegal gemstones turnover.

The investigation is being held now. The cost of the diamonds is expected to be several tens thousands roubles.

Since the beginning of 2003 in the Far East region of Russia there have been over 130 kg of precious metals and 135 ct of natural gemstones confiscated. Their cost amounts to about 37 mln.
