As it has been informed by RIA Novosti, the government of Armenia has approved the programme of jewellery sector and gemstone production development for 2004-2006. The programme provides the increase of gemstones export up to $400 mln and golden jewellery export — up to $100 mln.

Now the share of jewellery industry in Armenian gross income is 7%.
