The administration of Magadan region informs that the governor of Magadan region Nikolai Dudov held a meeting with the new CEO of OJSC Matrosov’s Pit Company Mikhail Kazimirov. At the meeting there were such questions discussed as the further development of the enterprise and its production. The list of the meeting’s participants included as well the deputy governor A.V. Polyakov and the CEO of OJSC Magadanenergo G.V. Stoletniy.

Now the annual plan is fulfilled at the Matrosov’s Pit Company by 70% only. It is connected with the crisis the enterprise has experienced recently: its mining technology has become obsolete, the deposits are becoming exhausted.

The new owner of the company, MMC Norilsk Nickel, intends to invest several millions dollars to the enterprise’s development and modification and to the Natalkinskoe deposit’s exploitation, its reserves being estimated at 1,5 thou tons of gold.
