According to Deita.Ru, in Magadan there was a man arrested. 658 g of gold were found in his flat, the worth of the precious metal being 283 thou roubles. The arrested man is supposed to have mined this gold illegally at one of mines of Tenkinsk area.

From the beginning of 2003, 126 kg of precious metals and 131 ct of gemstones have been confiscated in the region. The cost of the metals and gemstones mined illegally amounts to over 37 mln roubles.
