As it has been published by REGIONS.RU, Russian and Finnish geologists have discovered areas in several northern regions of Karelia Republic where there are platinoids and diamonds elements present.

According to the deputy director of the Geology Institute of Karelia Science Centre Anatoliy Golubev, there is nothing to be surprised with. This region is famous as new platinum province of North-West. However, it doesn’t mean at all that it is possible to mine the precious metal in Karelia — there is not a deposit there. Geologists don’t loose hope: exploration works are still taking place.
