According to Obozrevatel, the Verkhovnaya Rada of Ukraine (Supreme Council) has accepted the bill "On amendments to certain Ukrainian laws concerning State control over precious metals and gemstones turnover".

The bill provides the amendments to the laws "On the State control over precious metals and gemstones mining, production and consumption", "On National Bank" and "On executive production".

In particular, the Ministry of Finance is going to be deprived of the function of gold fund forming.

According to the bill, the National Bank is not the sole institution that is responsible for the State precious metals, gemstones and other values funds maintaining. Both National Bank and the Ministry of Finance will establish the order and conditions of jewellery and luxury goods keeping and realisation.
