Norilsk Nickel intends to enhance palladium supplies to jewellery companies

As it has been informed by IA Taimyrskiy Telegraph, MMC Norilsk Nickel intends to increase palladium supplies to both Russian and foreign jewellery companies in order to make the metal more popular in jewellery market. The company expects to attract leading companies from the sector

According to the vice president of MMC Norilsk Nickel Vitaliy Berlin, the profile of the company is not associated with jewellery production, so, Norilsk Nickel is interested in serious partners in this sphere. Mr Berlin mentioned as well that the company is already in the process of negotiating with Russian jewellery producers, and there are some results achieved. Palladium jewellery is presented in Russian market by such companies as Jewellery House (Yekaterinburg), Tcemes (Moscow), OJSC Krasnoyarsk Gulidov Non-Ferrous Metals Plant (Krastcvetmet, Krasnoyarsk) and Yekaterinburg Non-Ferrous Metals Plant. Dragtcnetmet is preparing its first palladium collection.

Russian jewellers regard the metal as perspective — it meets the requirements of the modern market. Leading jewellery companies from China, India and the USA have demonstrated their interest in the metal. Mr Berlin emphasised that the Norilsk Nickel wants to position palladium first of all as a precious metal, not only as a technical one.
