According to YASIA, the cabinet of ministers of Yakutia has considered the progress made in the Republic programmes concerning gold mining industry development in 2002-2006.

In January-September 2003 the gold mining companies of the Republic mined 16,4 tons of the precious metal. The annual plan has been already fulfilled in Aldansk ulus. The enterprises of Olekminsk and Oimyakonsk uluses, where gold mining was started only this year, have shown good results as well. According to preliminary results, instead of 18,5 tons of gold planned, over 19 tons will be mined in the region.
