The epidemic golden fever started not at the Klondike banks but in Siberia. This is the opinion of Valeriy Privalikhin, a writer and explorer. To be more precise, he pointed out the region of current Kuznetsk Bassin and local river Berikul. The humankind knew about gold Klondike only in 1896 while in Siberia gold was washed at the beginning of XIX. Industrial gold washing, according to documents, was started here in 1827. The fact that this region is not as famous as American Klondike is easily explained — there was no its own Jack London there.
