Information Agency Teleinform publishes that 16 272 kg of gold have been mined in Irkutsk region this year. On November 11, 2002, these figures were 15 948 kg of the precious metals. The enterprises of Bodaybo area are the leaders in gold mining — there were 15 821 kg of gold mined there.
