The volume of amber mining at the complex in Kaliningrad has been increased by 26%. As a result, production volumes have neen frown up four times as many. This figures were provided by the executive of the company Valeriy Ustinov. He mentioned that these indices show the improvement of production.

According to Mr Ustinov, since the beginning of the year 147 tons of amber have been mined, over 71 tons of the stone widely used in jewellery production have been exported, about 19,5 tons have been bought by Russian companies. Over 90% of the world’s amber are concentrated in Kaliningrad region and prospected reserves only amount now to more than 113 thou tons.
