МС&C publishes that on Monday the price of platinum reached the level of $760 per ounce — a record level after 1980. Such an increase raises the question of platinum’s substitutes. One of them is palladium, and this change of events can be advantageous for Russian metal producer Norilsk Nickel Company. Palladium is supposed to be especially useful in automobile industry instead of platinum.

Now the prices of platinum seem to be too high. Experts express an opinion that there is a risk of their sharp fall. However, slow decrease of prices is more probable, it is expected to take place next year.
