A it was reported by RIA Novosty, the federal budget has a damage of over 505 mln roubles (9,25 tons of gold) caused by gold mining companies. The data received as a result of special commission checking is valid on January 2003. 167 gold mining enterprises are the debtors.

The commission has discovered as well that 5,5 tons of gold paid from the federal budget have not been returned to the State Fund of Russia.
