The inhabitants of Moscow will learn everything about Russian miners

In Moscow Polytechnic Museum there was an exhibition of Russian mining history opened today.
Traditionally Peter the Great is considered to be the father of Russian mining industry. Its decree dated from 1700 on the mining department forming opens the exposition. It includes as well the decree of Soviet Government dated from 1935 on Norilsk city foundation. Among the exhibits there are miners’ lamps, different equipment and minerals found in Ural and Siberia. For example, a plaster cast of 36 kg golden nugget named “Large Triangle” is demonstrated. The nugget was found in 1842 in Ural. Visitors can also see a plaster cast of platinum nugget, the weight of original being 9,6 kg.
