As it was published by "AK&M", Yuriy Ionov will be appointed the first vice-president of JSC ALROSA. Mr Ionov is the legal counsellor of the Minister of Finance of Russia Alexei Kudrin. According to A. Kudrin, there will be no other serious changes taking place in the company’s management.

The Supervisory Council of JSC ALROSA will hold its next meeting in September 2003. Its agenda will include, in particular, the question of the chairman appointment.

Now 37% of the company’s shares belong to the Ministry of Property of Russia, 32% — to the government of the Sakha Republic (Yakutia), 23% — to the workers of diamond complexes and others, 8% — to eight Yakut uluses.
