According to the Assay Office of Russia, the share of illegal turnover of jewellery in Russia is estimated at 10%.

Six thou pcs of jewellery with fake stamps and over twenty thou pcs without the State stamps are confiscated annually in the Russian Federation, the total volume of jewellery controlled being about 450 – 500 thou pcs. Thus, such figures as 50 –70% of illegal jewellery in Russian market quoted by some representatives of the sector are at least groundless.
