On August 21 the National Bank of Ukraine is issuing the milliard coin. The chairman of the bank Sergey Tigipko will attend the ceremony of coining. The event is dated to coincide with the 12th anniversary of Ukraine’s Independence (celebrated on August 24).

Journalists will be allowed to visit the State Exchequer (Ukraine’s gold resource, special laboratory) and to meet experts in coinage.
