According to optimistic forecasts, there are huge diamonds deposits situated in Krasnoyarsk and Evenkia areas. Diamond resources are said to be large enough to be compared with Yakut deposits — up to 200 mln ct. The areas were named Angaro-Eniseyskaya diamond province; $500 mln of investments are needed for the areas exploitation.

Some times ago Australian and British company ВНР Billiton Plc showed its interest in the deposits. However, foreign companies must form joint enterprises in order to exploit Russian resources. For some reasons of juridical and criminal character, the dream of Angaro-Eniseyskaya diamond province has not managed to become true. Now there are no diamonds deposits exploitation works taking place in the region.
