As it was reported by REGIONS.RU the "Izumrudnye Kopi Urala" Company proposed to buy the alexandrite "Patriot" to the governor of Sverdlovsk region, Eduard Rossel. The letter with this offer was sent to the administration of Sverdlovsk region and the government of Middle Ural last week.

The alexandrite “Patriot” was found in 2000 at the Malyshevskoye deposit of the "Izumrudnye Kopi Urala" Company. It weighs more than 500 gr and is estimated at $150 thou.

The alexandrite "Patriot" is not unique - this conclusion has been made in GOKHRAN where the gemstone has been examined. So GOKHRAN of Russia refused to buy the unique Ural stone.

Now the owners of the stone have to offer it to the local authority. The "Izumrudnye Kopi Urala" Company hopes the administration of the region to turn down the proposal and they will put up it for auction.
