The official site of Chukchi autonomous region announces that since the beginning of the season the gold washing enterprises mined1 ton 800 kg of gold. That is 100 kg more than it was in 2002.

In Shmitovsky dictrict, where artels “Polyarnaya”, “Shahter” and “Arktika” “wash” gold, the level of gold mining is 1 ton, that is 70 kg more than last year.

In Chaunsky district 580 kg of gold were extracted. That is 180 kg more than in 2002, the same period. The leader in Chaunsky district is artel “Chukotka”.

Inspite of the positive dynamics of gold mining in Chukchi autonomous region this year in Bilibinsky district the main gold washing enterprises “Zvezda”, “Polyarnaya zvezda”, “Kristall” and “Luch” “washed” only 280 kg of gold.

In Chukchi autonomous region 27 artels have obtained quotas for 6892 kg of precious metal realization.

In all 30% of the precious metals were extracted in Chukchi autonomous region.
