The National Bank of Ukraine has put into circulation a gold commemorative coin “Pektoral”

The National Bank of Ukraine has put into circulation a gold commemorative coin “Pektoral” of 100 Hryvnias denomination from the series “Spiritual Treasures of Ukraine”. It is dedicated to the golden Pectoral (4-th century B.C.), the unsurpassed masterpiece of Hellenic and Scythian art found at the "Tolstaya Mogyla" burial mound in Dnepropetrovsk region (1971). The archaeologist Boris M. Mozolevskiy who found this moonlike three-tier decoration of a Scythian tsar called it as "the piece of work of majestic symphonic sounding and deep philosophic meaning. Like a drop of dew it reflects not only the shine of Scythian gold but also the great heart of the whole nation".
The coin of 100 Hryvnias denomination is made of 900 gold and has diameter of 32.0 mm and pure weight of 31.1 g. The rim of the coins is sector corrugation. Mintage is 1,500 pieces.
