On July 9, 2003, in the office of ALROSA Company (Mirniy, Yakutia) the Premier Minister of Russia Mikhail Kasyanov held the meeting on diamond industry development.

During the meeting there was the concept of Russian precious metals market liberalization. The document provides for weakening the control over diamonds realization system and diamonds exception from the list of currency values. Besides, the information about Russian diamonds resources and mining volumes will soon be excluded from the subjects of the State secret, and diamonds from the list of currency values.

ALROSA Company promised to increase diamonds mining volume till 2010 up to $2 bln a year.
