As it was reported by Finmarket, on July 2 2003 there was a meeting held in Moscow between the head of Archangel region Anatoliy Efremov and the president of JSC “ALROSA” Vladimir Kalitin. During the meeting the prospects of Archangel region diamond complex development were discussed.

The State Commission of resources of Russian Ministry of Nature has approved the technical and economic basis of conditions and the count of diamonds resources of south group of the Lomonosov deposit’s tubes. In 2002 the project of mining and concentrating complex was finished.

It is expected that first diamonds at the Lomonosov deposit will be mined in 2003, earlier than it has been planned.
