RIA “Novosty” informs that Russian archaeologists have found medieval coins at excavations in Velikiy Novgorod.

According to the head of Novgorod archaeological expedition, the academician of Russian Academy of Science Valentin Yanin, Polish grosz and Revel artigue were the latest founds in Velikiy Novgorod. The coins are supposed to date back to the end of XIV – beginning of XV century.

In 2003 Russian archaeologists have already made quite many discoveries in Novgorod: they have found Old Russian female jewellery, medieval ceramics etc.
