According to Interfax Agency, Russian diamond monopolist JSC “ALROSA” will sell special sized diamonds (10,8 ct and more) by its first international auction. The event will take place in August 2003 in the Diamond Chamber of Russia.

Diamonds weighing 50 ct and more in case they are not supposed to be unique will be sold by the auction as well. Both Russian and foreign companies specialising in large diamonds will be invited to participate in the tenders.

JSC “ALROSA” is one of the largest diamonds mining companies in the world, its share being about 25% of the world mining volume.
