In May 2003 the Savings Bank of Russia signed an agreement with the British Royal Mint on silver and golden coins of Great Britain acquisition and their selling in the Russian Federation.

The design of the “Silver Britain” coin at the face value of 2 pounds sterling issued in 2003 symbolises the historic past of the great sea power. The Savings Bank of Russia will offer as well golden coins: sovereign and half-sovereign issued in 2003.

The coins of Great Britain will be available in July 2003 in the branches of the Savings Bank of Russia.
