The Amber Room reconstruction works have finished
On May 13 the act of the Amber Room reconstruction works finishing was signed in Pushkin.
The formal opening of the renewed Amber Room will take place in the Ekaterininsky palace on May 31, 2003 in the presence of the President of Russia Vladimir Putin and the Chancellor of Germany Gerhard Schroeder. This event is timed for the 300th jubilee of St.-Petersburg.
The Amber Room reconstruction works began in 1979. Total expenses have amounted to about $8 mln.
