In 2003 the GOKHRAN of Russia plans to purchase diamonds for $100 mln in the domestic market.

According to Mr. Vladimir Rybkin, the head of GOKHRAN, last year there were no diamonds bought and in 2003 GOKHRAN intends to replenish its diamonds reserves. However, gold remains more liquid value than diamonds, and it has been planned to buy about 10 –15 tons of gold in 2003. The total amount of budget planned expenses for the State Fund values replenishment is 12 bln roubles.
