On April 29, 2003, the Ministry of finance held an open auction for the special sized diamonds (10,8 ct and more) realization in the domestic market. At the auction about 60% of the lots, total amount of them being 405, were sold 30 Russian cutting companies lodged the applications and transferred the sums required. However, 4 companies did not participate at the auction for different reasons. Smolensk “Kristall” Company, CJSC “Ruiz Diamonds Ltd.”, OJSC “Valentina – Excellent” and CJSC “Alpro” are among the winners of the auction.
