On May 30, 2003 the President of Russia Vladimir Putin and the Chancellor of Germany Gerhard Schroeder will participate in the formal opening of the renewed Amber Room in the Ekaterininsky palace. This event is timed for the 300th jubilee of St.-Petersburg.

Together with the Amber Room the exhibition “Amber Room. The Look through centuries” will open in the Malaya suite. At the exhibition there will be about 250 exhibits demonstrated within the chronological frameworks from the end of XVII till the end of ХХ centuries: photos, paintings, documents, luxury goods etc.
