JULY 4 
July 1 RAO "Norilsk Nickel" started dispatching metal to the
Vladimirsk region, Russia. The metal is going to be used for
production of a regular batch of Indian rupees. There will be 16400
thousand tons of nickel and brass processed on the Russian market
till the end of 2000 for those purposes. 5000 tons of metal will be
delivered for production of 550 million half-finished products for 5-rupees
coins. According to the plans, it is planned to render 8500 tons of metal
more in the first half of 2001. This amount will be used for production of
coins of 2 and 5 rupees.
Press-service of RAO informed, Moscow Mint won a tender in 1999
- for the first time in Russia's history - to deliver the coins for a foreign state.
