![]() Sensing the global focus on fashion in the fine jewellery industry, BV Schmuck & Uhren, the German trade association for jewelry, watches and clocks set the main focus on fashion and style. leading trends in German jewellery art are femininity and classicism.
Usually Germany presentations were marked by precise statistics of the year prior to the show. This year presentation became a music-thumping, model-driven fashion show.
Spokesman for BV Schmuck & Uhren Peter Rost said: "This years' designs are marked by the purist and most feminine forms". While the most prevalent style in the new German designs was white metals - predominantly 18-karat white gold-some leading designers like Wellendorff, Pforzheim, Germany, are returning to yellow gold.
Following the worldwide trend toward color, several designers showed colored stones accented with diamonds. The theme of new millenium was presented by Leo Wittwer who designed a necklace featuring 2000 diamonds.
For watches, cases permit free room for various personalities with varying shapes. Steel watches with athletic touches and other white metals-like white gold and silver-are an increasing trend.
Speaking on statistics, Peter Rost reported increasing sales and about 3% growth in German jewelry and watch industry.
