The investigation of Fedorovo-Panskiye tundras' mountain-mass in the central part of Murmansk region has brought results: platinum deposits have been discovered there. The exploitation of the deposits promises the region considerable profit. Russian geologists along with Canadian experts participated in the process of the new deposits development estimation.

The similar platinoids deposits have been discovered in the northern parts of Kareliya and in Finland.
