According to the President of the Sakha Republic Vyacheslav Shtyrov, the mining industrial complex in Nurba is to have been put into operation by September 1, 2003.

Moreover, jewellery industry is being developed in the ulus. At the opening of jewellery cutting plant "KDM-Nurba" Mr. Shtyrov expressed his gratitude to JSC "Zoloto Yakutii", which had been responsible for the plant construction, to the Committee of precious metals and gemstones and to the ulus administration.
