Archangel defences plant "Zvyozdochka" has started to cut diamonds, its production being about a hundred diamonds a day.

Russia controls at least 25% of world diamonds mining volume. The plant works with Yakut raw diamonds as the local diamonds deposits, discovered in 1980s, have not still been properly exploited. The resources of Lomonosovskoye deposit are estimated at $12 bln.
