The company "Mayskoe" possesses the licence to exploit Mayskoe gold deposit, one of the largest deposits in Chukotka. According to the data of the committee of natural resources of Chukotskiy autonomous district, gold resources of the deposit amount 277 tons.

"Norilsk Nickel" company has become known to be holding negotiations about the gold mining company buying. The administration of Chukotskiy district is one of the participants of negotiations as new investors want to be sure in local authorities support. However, "Norilsk Nickel" neither approves nor disproves this information.

Valeriy Rudakov, the director of "Polus" company, estimates Mayskoe gold deposit as high effective.

"Norilsk Nickel" has the aim to gain profit not only from platinoids mining but also from gold business.
