The unique silver coin of the grand prince Vladimir will be given to the State Historical Museum. The coin is the present of the Savings Bank of Russia
The relic was found in 1999 during excavations in Kursk region. It is one of the first Russian silver coins. They were minted together with golden coins after Christianity embracement in 988. The coin was minted on account of the Kiev's grand prince Vladimir Svyatoslavovich marriage. One side of the coin presents the grand prince and Rurikoviches family sign - trident. Jesus Christ is on the other side of the relic. The first Russian coins minting was the challenge to the Byzantine Emperors.
There are 10 golden coins and 340 silver coins dated approximately to the same time in the museums of Russia and Ukraine.
