According to advance figures, in the period from January to October 2002 Russian cutting companies have manufactured 1 thou 842 diamonds at the total mass of 622,95 ct aimed for retailing.

Meanwhile, in 2001 three gemmological centres of the Assay Office certificated 765 diamonds at the total mass of 297,8 ct.

This year Smolensk gemmological centre has awarded certificates for 670 diamonds - 194,96 ct (the figures of the whole 2001 - 353 diamonds, 203,12 ct), Moscow centre - 620 diamonds, 288 ct (329 diamonds, 78,26 ct) and Yakut - 552 diamonds, 139,99 ct (83 diamonds, 16,42 ct).
