On November 16 Reuters agency informed that Norilsk Nickel "will not need to export palladium via Almazyuvelirexport". Norilsk Nickel press service was empowered to say that this news was the game of dishonest traders who try to inluence the market and price formation. According to the current legislation the price delivery will be produced via State Unitary Enterprise Almazyuvelirexport that is empowered to conclude treaties and deliver precious metals.
On October 23 the first director deputy of Norilsk Nickel Dmitry Zelenin said that "for preventing the delays in platinoids delivery Norilsk Nickel commissioned its agent Almazyuvelirexport with sending in an offer on the terms and volume of platinoid delivery in 2001 and on prolonged time to Japanese companies". At present Almazyuvelirexport and Norilsk Nickel there participate in a number of meetings with Japanese companies. The meetings aim at discussing all the possible collaboration variants on platinoids delivery. The participation of all interested parties is a new stage of external economic links development. The parties consider this strategy to be extremely favourable.
At present Norilsk Nickel possesses 10 year export quota on palladium so there will be no delay in export delivery in 2001.
