In 1999 after 45 years of delay the ore exploration began according to the Plan of industrial and experimental ore try-out. The estimations of the project planners were confirmed and ALROSA began the deposit exploration in 2000.
At present time Zanitsa tube is regarded as a suitable source for the Udachninsky GOK (One of the main supplying department for ALROSA) that now uses diamond raw mainly from Udachnaya tube. Accoring to the open cut mining of the resources of Udachny pit will be stopped and underground mining will be launched.
Modern optimization methods were used to find out the depth and the borders of the pit. The estimated depth of it is 200 meters, while the outlook is 400 m.
Mining enterprise of Zarnitsa tube will serve as a structural department for Udachninsky GOK and will be supplying it until 2022 as point of ALROSA diamond mining program, ALROSA press service informs.
