Goldmining in Russia will increase by 15% in 2000, while the increase of 1999 was 10%, with 115 t of total volume of gold mined, the President of Union of Prospectors Artels V.Tarakanovsky informed. 10% increase can be expected in 2001. The goldmining didn't decrease due to the new modern equipment used at the deposits. This year it helped to make an increase of 12 t. Among the main obstacles to the development of the industry he pointed growing tax rates, high credit cost and an unjustified growth of material resources.
