OJSC MMC "Norilsk Nickel" have bought 100% of shares of CJSC "Polus", Russian largest gold manufacturer. "Norilsk Nickel" has become the largest gold manufacturer In Russia with more than 15% market share. Buying of CJSC "Polus" is one of "Norilsk Nickel" development phases within the frames of diversification strategy aimed to strengthening of the company's position in precious and nonferrous metals market.

This gain helps the comp-any to earn a number of important competitive advantages, including pure profit and proceeds sources diversification, increasing benefits stability and significant raising of pure profit per a share beginning from 2003.
